Africa stands at a critical turning point in its energy journey. Despite abundant resources in solar, wind, hydro, geothermal, and natural gas, over 600 million Africans still lack access to reliable electricity. In a special edition of Talk Africa co-produced by CGTN and KTN, energy experts explored how the continent can diversify its energy mix to achieve resilience, affordability, and sustainability. Key discussions highlighted the need for blended energy solutions, stronger regional infrastructure, increased local manufacturing, and more inward-focused financing. Experts emphasized that Africa’s energy future depends on balancing renewables, gas, industrialization, and innovation to unlock economic growth, improve electrification, and build long-term energy independence.
