Turning Uganda’s harvests into finished products took centre stage at the opening of the seventh UG Economic Forum. In a video published by NBS TV Uganda on 13 October 2026, the discussion introduces agro-industrialisation as a way to connect agricultural production with processing, employment and stronger household incomes.
The session asks what happens after harvest: how much produce is processed locally, how farmers can connect with industry and how Uganda can retain more value from its agricultural exports. Framed around putting money in people’s pockets, the conversation highlights opportunities to build businesses and more productive jobs along agricultural value chains.
