Namanve Industrial Park Powers Uganda’s Manufacturing Growth and Job Creation

Uganda’s Namanve Industrial Park is emerging as a key driver of industrialization, hosting over 400 companies, with about 80% operational, and creating more than 140,000 jobs. During a Presidential CEO Forum inspection, officials assessed progress, visited leading manufacturers, and highlighted the park’s contribution to local entrepreneurship, import substitution, technology transfer, and exports. Investors praised government support but raised concerns over poor internal roads and unstable electricity affecting production. As Uganda pursues its Vision 2040 goal of building a US$500 billion economy, improving infrastructure within industrial parks will be essential to sustaining manufacturing growth, attracting investment, and boosting national competitiveness.
