Five women-led Ugandan technology businesses have secured a combined UGX185 million to support their next stage of growth. NTV Uganda reports that the funding comes through the Standard Chartered Foundation Women in Tech programme, delivered with Innovation Village. The successful ventures emerged from a cohort of 20 women-led businesses and include ideas addressing transport access and the movement of medical records between facilities. Organisers say earlier participants have attracted customers and created jobs. A further phase of market integration will help entrepreneurs strengthen distribution, refine their business models and turn investment readiness into sustainable growth.
