Spiro Expands Africa’s EV Network with Local Manufacturing and New Market Growth

Spiro is accelerating Africa’s electric mobility revolution by expanding its battery swap network, entering new markets including Mali, Malawi, DRC, and Ethiopia, and increasing local manufacturing. The company aims to produce 90% of EV components within Africa by next year, strengthening regional supply chains and reducing costs. With electric bikes already dominating markets like Rwanda and growing rapidly in Kenya and Uganda, Spiro says affordable EV adoption is rising fast, driven by lower operating costs and expanding battery swap infrastructure.
