Angola, Zambia & Botswana Are Building Africa’s Biggest Oil Refineries.

Angola’s $6.6 billion Lobito Refinery, capable of processing 200,000 barrels per day, has attracted a 26% stake from Zambia and a potential 30% stake from Botswana, three countries building collective energy sovereignty. Simultaneously, Zambia is constructing its own $1.1 billion Indola Refinery. Together, these moves signal a historic shift: Africa is finally refining its own oil, controlling its own value, and breaking its dependence on foreign refiners.
